I hit a Free plan limit

What happens when you hit a Free plan limit — and how replace dialogs work.

Last updated About 2 hours ago

For everyone. Only an admin can upgrade the workspace.

Free workspaces have real limits on channels, projects, SOPs, and seats. Hitting a limit blocks the action — nothing is deleted.

Channel limit — upgrade only

Free includes 1 channel. When you already have one, trying to add another shows an upgrade prompt. There is no replace dialog for channels.

The upgrade prompt when a Free workspace tries to add a second channel; Upgrade to Business is outlined.

The outlined Upgrade to Business button opens checkout (admins only). Keep Free closes the prompt — your existing channel is unchanged.

Project and seat limits — replace or upgrade

Free includes 1 active project and 3 seats.

  • Projects: archive the current project to create another. Restoring a second active project while you are at the limit opens a replace dialog — pick which project stays active, or upgrade to the paid Business plan.
  • Seats: inviting a fourth person while three seats are in use opens a similar replace dialog — pick who to swap out, or upgrade to the paid Business plan.

Keep the current active project, replace it with the archived one, or upgrade to the paid Business plan.

Tip: Parked projects, channels, SOPs, and seats stay in your workspace — they are hidden or inactive until you upgrade or make room on Free.
